How it works
From a plate number to a conversation
Four steps, none of which involve giving anyone your phone number.
Look up the plate
Pick the country and type the plate number of the car in front of you. Spaces and dashes do not matter — plates are stored without them, so however the plate is printed, typing what you see works.
A lookup tells you the vehicle is registered. It never tells you who owns it, and the owner is never told that you looked.
What the lookup can tell you
Vehicle found
The plate is registered and its owner can be reached. You go straight to picking the problem.
Not registered
Nobody has registered that plate, so there is no one to notify. You are told plainly, rather than sending a message into nothing.
That's your vehicle
The plate is one of your own. No alert is sent.
Owner can't be reached
The vehicle is registered, but its owner cannot be contacted right now.

Say what the problem is
Pick from the list — the urgent ones lead it — and add a short note if there is something worth saying. Choosing from a list rather than free text means the owner sees how urgent it is before they have read a word, in their own language.
The owner sees your ParkAlert name only — never your real name or phone number.
Keep talking if you need to
Sending the alert opens a conversation between the two of you. “Two minutes” is often the whole exchange. When it is sorted, either of you can mark it resolved and the conversation closes — still readable, but no longer open.
- Conversations are private between the two of you.
- Messages arrive live, and you can see when the other person is typing.
- Block someone and they can never message or call you again.
- Report anything that should not have been sent.

A relayed call
The call happens inside ParkAlert and is time-limited. Neither side sees a phone number, and there is nothing to write down afterwards.
Why calling asks you to verify
A voice call is a bigger ask than a message, so it is reserved for people who have confirmed their identity. The document is used to check who you are and is never shown to another user.
