Other people in ParkAlert see a name we generate for you, and nothing else. It is not a setting to find and switch on — it is the only way the app works.

How that holds up, feature by feature
Alerts
When someone alerts you about your car, they never learn who you are. When you alert someone, they never learn who you are either.
Conversations
A conversation is private between the two of you, and starts only because one of you sent an alert. There is no directory and no way to message a stranger out of the blue.
Calls
Calls happen inside ParkAlert and are relayed. Neither side sees a phone number, and nothing is left in a call log to dial later.
Plate lookups
Looking up a plate tells you the car exists in ParkAlert — never who owns it. The owner is not told that you looked, and repeated lookups are rate-limited.
Verification documents
Documents are used to verify you and are never shown to anyone else. Once uploaded, no one can download them through the app — not even you.
Your vault and AI
Bills and papers in your vehicle vault are yours alone — never shown to another user. When AI reads them or answers your questions, it only ever sees your own records, and nothing is used to train it.
Exporting a car's history
An export for a buyer carries the car's history and documents, never you: no name, number, ID or private notes. The file is made when you ask for it and is not kept.
Countries and languages
ParkAlert opens country by country, and the copy is translated centrally. Where a feature is not available yet, the app says so rather than failing quietly.
Verification
What happens to a document you upload
Verifying unlocks the features that need a confirmed identity, like voice calls. Here is the whole of what happens to the photo you send.
It is never shown to other users
No screen in ParkAlert displays another person's document, and no support flow sends one on.
It cannot be downloaded through the app
Once uploaded, the file is not retrievable from the app by anyone — including you.
It is used only to confirm you are who you say you are
Verification is the single purpose. It is not used to fill in a profile or to match you with anything else.
Your ID number is never displayed anywhere
It does not appear on your profile, in a conversation, or to the person you are talking to.
Anonymous to each other, useful to each other
That is the whole idea. The rest of the app is built around keeping it true.
